HealthLink BC
HealthLink BC is a comprehensive health information and advice service provided by the Government of British Columbia.
HealthLink BC provides access to non-emergency health information and advice in BC 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Information and advice are available by phone, a website, a mobile app, and a collection of print resources.
BC residents can contact HealthLink BC by phoning 8-1-1 toll-free (for those with difficulty hearing, call 7-1-1) or by visiting the HealthLink BC website.
HealthLink BC brings together some of BC's most trusted and recognized health information services including:
- BC HealthGuide
- BC HealthFiles
- BC NurseLine
- Pharmacist Services
- Dial-a-Dietitian, and
- The Physical Activity Line (PAL)
HealthLink BC expands these services with an online and by-phone navigation service to help you find the health resources and facilities you need, closest to where you live.
Unlike HealthLink BC, Ability411 is a strictly online service for residents of British Columbia – we are not able to accept phone calls. Thus, if you do not have access to email and wish to ask a question of Ability411, please call 8-1-1 toll-free (or for those with difficulty hearing, call 7-1-1) to reach HealthLink BC. A health services navigator will answer your call and may act as an intermediary between you and Ability411. Or, depending on your needs, you may be connected with:
- a registered nurse, any time, every day of the year;
- a registered dietitian, from 9 am to 5 pm Pacific Time, Monday to Friday;
- a qualified exercise professional, from 9am to 5pm Pacific Time, Monday to Friday;
- a pharmacist, from 5pm to 9am Pacific Time every day of the year.
