There are a number of apps that are designed to help users with cognitive challenges break down their daily tasks into steps. Below are direct links to some apps that you may wish to explore:
- CanPlan app (at CanAssist) makes it possible for users with cognitive challenges to break down a task into a sequence of easy-to-follow photos. Features include text and/or audio prompts that can appear with the images, as well as scheduled reminders to help stay on track. This app is free and can be downloaded on Apple devices.
- Qcard (at Qcard Inc) is an app that allows users with cognitive challenges to set quick reminders, guided tasks and appointments. Caregivers can also be connected to view the app, enabling monitoring from a distance. There is a free 30-day trial, after which the app costs about $2.79 per month (CDN) or about $20 (CDN) for a lifetime subscription. This app can be downloaded on Apple and Android devices.
- Can't Forget helps you remember those often-repeating tasks that don’t rate an entry into a calendar app, but can be SO annoying when you forget them. It also can help by reminding you to do those aspirational activities like exercise. The app is for free but only available for Apple devices.
