To set up the thermometer, simply place the device near a window and stick the 10-foot probe outside. This product costs about $18 (CDN) and does not include batteries in the order (two AAA batteries are required). This product is also available at Assistive Technology Services
- Reizen Atomic Talking Clock with Indoor-Outdoor Thermometer (at MaxiAids) is a radio-controlled clock that allows you to hear the outdoor and indoor temperatures out loud with the touch of a button. This device, which also displays the temperature in easy-to-see black numbers on an LCD screen, can be purchased for about $60 to $70 (USD), plus a shipping fee. The main unit uses two AA batteries, and the wireless remote requires two AAA batteries (not included).
