For those who have a hearing impairment, using a device that emits flashing light to indicate the phone is ringing is a great idea. The following are examples of a few products you might want to explore.
- The Krown Phone Strobe Flasher is sold by Deaf and Hear Alberta. This lightweight device is powered by your phone line and flashes when there's an incoming call. It also works with a videophone and most PBX systems. It features bright 10 candela LED that spreads light better so you can tell someone is calling. To use the Strobe Flasher, simply plug it into the wall phone jack, then plug your phone into the Phone Strobe Flasher. No batteries are required. It sells for about $60 (CDN), plus additional shipping fees.
- Krown makes another product, called the KRN-K-RA-005 Amplified Ringer with Strobe (Amazon Canada). Unlike the device described above, this product also includes an extra loud ringer (up to 120 decibels). It plugs into the phone line and is also powered by an AC adapter. It sells for about $65 (CDN), plus additional shipping fees.
- Another option is the Lynn Electronics 070 Visual Phone Strobe Flasher (Amazon Canada). Like the other devices, this product plugs into a phone line and does not require batteries. This device costs about $45 (CDN), plus additional shipping fees.
